Charity Ball Raises Thousands for CRS: Viewfinder

Almost 300 turn out for black-tie optional affair in Westlake.

More than 300 people attended the CRS Charity Ball Jan. 28 at La Centre in Westlake, raising tens of thousands of dollars for the organization that supports Avon and Avon Lake.

Peter & Co. Jewelers has donated a Hearts On Fire pendant, valued at $3,990, to the ball, and several "big items" were auctioned off in an auction including a week in a condo, center court seats to the Cavs and a progressive dinner.

Guests were able to bid on a number of silent auctions including a "Battle of the Baskets" that was won by the Avon Lake Patch.

The night also included cash sideboards, an iPad sideboard, and a wine pull sponsored by Heidelberg Distributors and Constellation Wines. All proceeds benefit CRS, a responsive, community-based organization whose mission is to diminish the effects of poverty in Avon and Avon Lake.

The charity ball is CRS’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
